About Me:
I am a student at Eastern Michigan University where I am studying Music Education - Instrumental. I hope to someday direct a band or two and teach others about music. I play the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and electric bass. I have some experience with the Bb clarinet, trumpet, F horn, alto saxaphone, percussion, and piano. I am currently studying the upright bass and Jazz guitar. I have one guitar student and I tutor a student in music theory. Of course I will not accept money from either. I simply enjoy it to much to do so. It warms my heart and gives me such joy to see others learn about and gain a passion for music.
Aside from that I will be pursuing a dual minor in History (teaching) and Theatre Arts. I have always had a passion for history. I feel that if we do not hold on to our history then we will have no sense of where we came from and no pride in what we have become. Plus the various stories that have come out of the past are just so amazingly interesting.
I have been involved in the theatre since 2005 when I played the role of a Nazi officer in “The Diary of Anne Frank.” I wasn't exactly thrilled about that role, but someone had to do it. After that I had joined the Huron Civic Theatre's technical crew learning to work lights, sound, and stage. I was involved in several plays after that including “Zombie Prom”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, “Music Man” and “Romeo & Juliet.” I played the guitar in the pit band for “Zombie Prom”, and I worked lights and sound for the others. I also worked sound and stage for a Taylor Ballet Company's show. I have helped design and construct nearly every set used in these plays as well. The most notable one was “The Music Man'. It was done at the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, MI where John Wilkes Booth's brother performed Hamlet at.
I recently assumed the position of Recycling Coordinator for my residence hall's Leadership Advisory Board. I am a member of the Huron Township Rotary Club, the Huron Township Goodfellows and a founding member of the Huron High School Interact Club, and the Huron High School POPS Band. I was the editor-in-chief for the 2008 Chieftain yearbook and worked as a staff member for the 2007 Chieftain. I marched the electric guitar in 2007-2008 for Huron High School and played Classical guitar, electric bass, and mandolin in the Huron High School's Concert Band.
